Thing we like...many for medical device development, but sometimes other stuff too.

Software for Statistical Discovery
The Profiler is absolutely amazing in front of Management to make DOE real. The GraphBuilder never fails to shock non-users with its revelations And when you have a tricky data set, the Partition Model can be a joy filled experience of little Easter Eggs to make rules of thumb. Plus I use Process Capability and Measurement System Analysis all the time. Pays for itself every year darn near immediately. (User since 1994)
Matrix Requirements
Software for Requirement to Evidence Linking
There are very few pieces of software that actually help you make better risk reports (most tack your risk report into a non-linked, non-integrated uploaded file). If you ever wanted to do a "where used" on a requirement, find a input that does not yet have on output, or even find on output that serves no input, then you want Matrix Requirements. Just getting started on this one, but I know I am going to love it. It is for people looking to save time.
SmartSheet
Collaborative tools for teams; mostly schedules and others perspectives too.
Project Management can be burdensome. Lists in Microsoft products can work, but it can be hard to dial the focus into to select tasks then dial out to big picture in a real time meeting while looking calm and skilled. Smartsheet can automate more tasks than you know and if you slowly train your team, you will be surprised at the utility in the features.
How to Implement Lean Manufacturing by Lonnie Wilson (McGraw Hill)
A book just chock full of good advice
I really like books that that describe the good and the bad. Lonnie Wilson's writings inform you fully on challenges, misconceptions, and how to work through setbacks, overconfidence, and bone-headed management decisions with grace and professionalism.
Flight of the Gossamer Condor by Churchill Films
Short Documentary that won the Academy Award in 1978. Directed by Ben Shedd (27 minutes).
Always had a soft spot for this short film about a small divergent team converging on a solution to a clear requirement. Innovation built on the first principles of Physics and fun weekend sprints. Made many engineering teams watch it. Made my kids watch it too.
Dulles Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center
The Smithsonian's Air and Space "Hanger"
If you ever have a layover at Washington DC's Dulles Airport, hop an Uber over to the Air&Space Musuem's annex on the airport grounds. Space Shuttle, the Enola Gay, the Skunkwork's SR-71 Blackbird, Rutan's canard, and several balloon gondolas... something for everyone.
Against the Rules Podcast
Author Michael Lewis (The Blindside, Moneyball, Liar's Poker...) does a podcast
If you want to listen to just one to see if it is for you, try Season 3's "Six Levels Down" about finding transformative experts six levels down from the C-suite. Lewis tells a great story. Each season has a theme.
TigerMoth by TAXA
An easy to trailer habitat for get-aways
A perfect thing. An ideal basecamp for two to slip quietly into tent sites at State Parks all over this Continent (now that my kids have grown). It is ready-to-go at all times in our garage and the honeycomb construction has really extended the camping season here in the North.
